Hi everyone,

Please note the details of our book launch to mark the publication of our new anthology. I have contributed, it is a story about cricket. No surprise there then!

Stories to Make You Smile is the new anthology written by the City’s longest standing writers’ group, and we will be launching the book on Saturday 3rd March at the Big Comfy Bookshop, Fargo Village, from 12 noon – 3pm.

The Coventry Writers’ Group has roots that go back to the 1960s, and has been meeting on the first Tuesday of every month since then. For this anthology, members were given the challenge: Make ‘em laugh! So we set about writing a collection of funny, witty and light hearted stories that will bring a smile to readers’ faces.

The authors included in this anthology range from seasoned novelists with dozens of published works, to those whose work is being put into print for the first time. We are all looking forward to the book launch, when some will be reading extracts from the book to the visiting public.

Margaret Mather, the CWG chairperson said: “This is the fourth anthology that the Coventry Writers’ Group has published, and we decided to give it a humorous feel. Everyone needs a laugh and this book delivers. There is something for everyone, from cricket stories to quiz show stories, murder to mayhem, tales of ancient Troy to trips to the seaside. All of our writers have risen to the challenge, so we’re hoping people will enjoy reading our anthology.”

Also, at the book launch, fellow CWG member Charles Satchwell will be launching his debut Western novel, Brothers Lost and Found.
